Why should the military come to help?? Why do people expect the govt to come to their rescue all the time??

The Govt said evacute for your own safety!! So I think they should focus their efforts on all the refugees....and that is more then enough for them to handle....

They have placed themselves in an unsafe situation and now are blaming the govt for not taking care of them
hard to be sympathetic to that... much easier to be sympathetic to the 100 of 1,000's who are in the process of rebuilding their lives and not sitting around complaining about the govt not running to their aid.

I am with you Katyah, until you are placed in the same situation you cannot comment on the reasons why people chose to stay. But we still need to save the ones who did!

Troy, I'm glad to see things are better. I called to ask Jim IV if I should send the armed coonass patrol for you, now I may send them to you for backup. Now we're getting reports of looting in Houston, Baton Rouge and Lafayette. Today, the Hibernia here in New Iberia closed for all business except drive thru business.
I did see today free housing for Katrina refugees in Boulder. By the way, I hope you have a different gun than you did up there.
Next time y'all go sailing on The Reason Why I'm bringing the beer.
Hope to see you soon.

Don't you realize that a large number of the people who stayed behind did so because they are poor or old or sick and could not afford transportation out, or $$ to stay somewhere else? Were there means provided to evacuate the entire city, or did people just say "get out"?
