I did not listen to your warning and I wish I had several drinks. It breaks my heart, but I guess they are still only "things"
Thanks for checking things out for me and the pictures. Sorry about the injury, T.
Buzzy
Yesterday's story is that I was thrown from an airboat with cell phone in pocket as well as camera in hand. Today was a day of muscle relaxers and wine.
i spoke with the Animal Control office for the state and am planning on going back to rescue. Some of my rescue requests are outdated. Please e-mail or fax me current rescue requests. I don't want to be going to homes where the pet have already been rescued.
NOLA.com is a pain in the ass to log on to, or I'm incapacitated now. Either way, spread the word that I will be going back in, but I want 'fresh' requests. I would like to ditch the HUGE stack of papers and focus on what I can still do.
On a personal note, Troy, get your butt down here, I've got an airboat pilot who will give you the ride of a lifetime. The Abita bank is depleting and I was accosted last night, accused of making an unnecessary withdrawl. Plus, you should see what Vacherie (the house, not the town) looks like. I think Dad would like to start trainng closing regatta crew on the proper way to open a beer.
You said you'd be heading to St. Mary Parish--where in the hell are you??
I am sorry about your home. Additionally, as a vintage dishware collector, my heart breaks to see your lovely green depression-glass collection in shambles. Is that large amber compote/candy dish with the scalloped rim a Fenton? It looks miraculously untouched!
Such a small thing to focus upon during such a horrible time for you, I know, I know, I know. Please do not think of me as a heartless, callous person. Again, I am sorry for the total wipeout of your home. I only hope that some of your beautiful glass, that I know you must have collected with great love over the years, has survived. I hope you can find those small pleasures once again in the aftermath.
Best,
A Fellow Collector
