Post - Rita

The rain has settled and the last hold-outs from the trees have dropped. All in all, here in New Orleans, Rita wasn't so bad. Comparably.

Tomorrow, I think I'm going to make a run down to St. Mary Parish for some first hand accounts closer to Rita's landfall.

I may not stop until I hit Santa Fe. The desert sounds good about now.

Hey,
You always have a place to crash and a warm shower in the desert of Arizona. Don't forget about me.

You always have a place to stay and a warm shower in the desert of Arizona. Don't forget about me.

Power has returned to Franklin. Outside of the city is still out. 24 hours of no power. Vacherie has about a foot of clearance before water enters the house. The pontoon boat is on the grass and there are whitecaps in the fields. Things are starting to clear up and the Navy is conducting rescues south of town. Ready for who dat.
