Hate to hear you so "down" ! Try to enjoy your trip and the beautiful country that you are seeing. When thinking of your love for New Orleans, think of what you can do for YOURSELF so that you can be strong and optomistic when you return. It will take time and strength.
Thinking of you and praying for your "spirits".

T,
You sound so depressed hope everything is ok. Things are starting to happen here. They are really cleaning things up. There is a big volunteer event that I am going to tomorrow to clean up Magazine Street. The Prytania Theater is open, Bob and Liz saw a movie there last weekend. PJ's on Mag is open so are almost all of the restaurants and bars with the exception of St.Joe's don't know what is taking them so long. Alot is happening, you can tell just by the traffic. Being New Orleans noone is paying any attention to road signs such as Stop and One Way, that is a little frustrating but proves things are getting back to "normal". Cheer up and hurry home I have no one to go out with. Bud is coming back in a week although I am not sure if she is staying or just visiting. I am getting bored here all by myself!!
Talk soon,
Stacey

...have you thought of just heading West to Cali? I have friends there...could try to hook you up. Don't get me wrong, it would be valiant to go back to NOLA...but maybe if you left for a while...maybe 12 to 18 months...you could come back and 'deal'...It will all still be there. Not sure what type of work you do (although i know it's writing-oriented), but having peace of mind and resources of a town could enable you to do a LOT for the people of New Orleans through your writing...make regular trips back, etc....but stay away to stay sane for a while...Just a thought...You sound better than you have so far in your sound clip, Troy - keep hangin' in! : )

Hey, Troy... haven't commented in a while, but just so you know I'm still keeping track of your ass.. take the more northern route back and pick up some bracelets. Then get your butt back to taking care of business.. smile.

You know the most sensational thing the media can talk about is the mega-tons of garbage. All that means is there has to be one hell of a MardiGras coming up so Mother Nature can't hold the trash record.

Yep, that mountain and desert country is beautiful... in its own way.. but it ain't N'Awlins.

Be safe, man.. and get headed southeast again.. you'll be better then.
